had a good care group session today as we learnt about the book of phillippians. it is by far my favourite book in the bible, so many of my favourite verses are in there. they're a reminder of how i should live and a source of encouragement as well. let me share some of them with you.
1:6
He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
1:21
to live is Christ and to die is gain.
2:14-15
do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you will shine like stars in the universe.
4:4
rejoice in the Lord always. i will say it again: rejoice!
4:6-7
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. and the peace of God, which trandscends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
4:13
i can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
i wrote the last verse down on a post-it note and stuck it on my ez-link card so that i'll be able to see it and remind myself everyday. that no matter my circumstances, no matter how many tutorials/projects/assignments/quizzes/exams i may have or are coming up, God will be there to provide and His strength will never fail to pull me through.
i guess that's the reason why i'm not so stressed this semester too. as long as i do my best, God will do the rest. ker yew asked during cg what have we given up to God, and i believe my studies is one area where i've given up to Him. not to say that i've slacked off and sat back to wait for Him to hand me As, but i've stopped worrying and stressing unnecessarily. yes i do stress out sometimes, but God is good and He reminds me that there's more to life than studies, more to life than getting good grades.
God is indeed awesome. and there is indeed much to rejoice in! i passed my hr and fm quizzes, i finally completed my fm project and my group came in second in some stock market simulation for the fm project! hahaha. and it all happened this week! God is indeed abundant in His blessings.
and look how fast the semester has gone by! 2 more weeks of school plus 2 more weeks of exams and i'd have completed my first year as a uni student. wow. then i get my break YAY. :D
oh yes by the way ker yew's my cgl who just got engaged haha super happy for her congrats dear! (:
now if only my (much older than me) cousins would get engaged too. :P
